To day is July 4th. I have spent the day reading the Declaration of Independence. 1,320 words. Drafted by Thomas Jefferson between June 11 and June 28, 1776. I found some passages interesting.
..."to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God "
..."that they are endowed by their Creator "
..."deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed"
..."it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government"
...'To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world."
..."We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms"
..."A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."
Scooter Libby is not the criminal. If we focus on him, we lose sight of the true criminals. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. The real crime was not committed by Scooter, but by mr. bush and mr. cheney. Hitler was criminal, Saddam was a criminal and mr. bush is a criminal.
Ann Colter. how can any human being be as void of humanity and decency as Ann Colter? Whenever I look at Ann, I see Satan in all his glory. I have to wonder where she fits with the religious right?
Family values? For that matter, any values!
How can the religious right align with the thugs of the Republican party? The Jesus I know would never be a republican?
The biggest bloc for support of Mr. Bush and the war in Iraq is the religious right. I simply don't understand how a true, real christian can support such a miscarriage of justice? The average american voter I guess. Most average american voters have to come from the religious right. no critical processing of information! Acceptance of anything thet the republicans feed them.
I hope that the republicans heading into 2008 will dig deep into their collective sense of what it is to be american. If any republican reading this will just for one moment be critical and think, for just one second, stop and think. If you are going to put a crook in the white house, at a minimum, please make the crook a competent crook.
