I watched 5 minutes or so of Pastor Rod this morning and it set me thinking. As he vented his christian anger on first one thing and then another, Darwin, New Age philosophy, Karl Marx, all the World Religions, and all humans who don't see the world through his absolute certainty of rightness.

I wonder where humanity would be if we still practiced medicine as practiced 2,000 years ago, 1,000 years ago. The next time you go to the doctor, be thankful that medicine did not put science on hold. Your doctor no longer uses blood letting or leaches. Science has increased the life expectancy more than 30 years in just the past 100 years.

Science-not religion!

Darwin's theory of evolution is just that, a theory. Science may one day prove it wrong or right as the case may be. Or as we have more knowledge, make adjustments to the theory.

And so we have the major difference in science and christian religion. Science can prove it's theories wrong, or make adjustments as new information is known. Religion is absolute and can't be adjusted or proven wrong, no matter how wrong.

Imagine sending a man to the moon if we still used the science of 2,000 years ago. Science and religion are often at odds. Some of the religious people I know think that satan is a flesh and blood entity living somewhere on the planet.

But where?

I know that one day I will face an essential truth of my existence on this small orb in space. What I don't know is what that essential truth is?
